Chez
Magali, |
Chez Magali is approached from a lane which leads down to the river Aude about 150 yards away. Its gate opens on to the private parking area from which there is a path through the 'Mediterranean-style' garden and patio to the main porch. The ground floor consists of a very large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, which has comfortable seating, a satellite television, DVD player and 100 films, CD/cassette/radio, telephone and plenty of books and cassettes to suit most tastes. Windows look to the south over the gardens and to the west towards the vineyards. Two of the interior walls are 'pierre apparente' and the beamed ceiling retains its original features. The dining table has ample seating for six people or more. The kitchen area is very well equipped with dishwasher, washing-machine, microwave, refrigerator/freezer and four-plate electric cooker. The wooden staircase leads up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. South-facing and looking towards Mount Alaric are one of the twin rooms and the double bedroom which has a four-poster bed, a second telephone and a separate shower and washbasin en suite. The other twin bedroom facing towards the river has a balcony with outdoor seating. All the bedrooms have ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom contains a washbasin and bath with hand-shower. There are two w.cs in the house, one on the first floor and the other on the ground floor off the porch. We provide a travel cot and a removable barrier across one of the bedroom doors for toddlers' safety if required. Heating is by electric radiators throughout. In the garden and patio there is outdoor seating, tables, a barbecue, whirligig and parking area. The garden is planted with bushes and shrubs, not grassed. A security light offers safe access at night. The entire house is furnished, decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Chez Magali is situated at one end of a long rectangular building which is in three parts. We keep the central section for ourselves although we do not expect to be there when visitors are staying at Chez Magali. The section furthest away from Chez Magali, called La Florette, may be let to visitors also, but it faces a different direction, hence ensuring privacy for both houses; those staying at Chez Magali do not normally have access to the swimming-pool or the main grounds which 'belong' to La Florette. The only exception to this will occur when the one group rents La Florette and Chez Magali at the same time, in which case doors may be opened to bring the two houses effectively closer together so that everyone shares the same facilities. Linen provided free, except cot sheets and towels for the beach and terrace. Free heating and electricity except in the winter. Easy parking. Keys sent to you in advance, enabling you to arrive when you want to. Lets normally from Saturday to Saturday, negotiable off-season. Autoroute 5 miles. For full letting arrangements, see below. |
