Swimming pool
'La Florette', Floure, near Carcassonne

Sleeps 10+cot in three twin and two double bedrooms. Exclusive gardens and private swimming-pool (11x5 ms).
8 miles east of Carcassonne.

La Florette is approached along a lane which leads into your large drive and spacious parking area. A security light offers safe access at night. On the ground floor there is a large living-room with a stone fire-place and beamed ceiling. It contains a satellite television, DVD player with 100 films, radio/CD/cassette player, telephone, and many books and cassettes to suit most tastes. The separate dining-room has ample seating for ten people. The kitchen is well-equipped with a four-plate electric double-oven cooker, microwave, two refrigerators, dishwasher and an excellent stock of crockery, cutlery and utensils. On this floor also there is a double bedroom and a separate w.c. with wash-basin.

Wooden stairs lead off the hallway to the first floor, where there are three twin bedrooms and one double bedroom, all of ample proportions with good wardrobe and drawer space. The double bedroom has a separate shower and wash-basin en suite. The main bathroom has a bath, wash-basin, bidet and separate shower unit. In addition there is another shower-room with w.c. and wash-basin, in which the washing-machine is located. There is also one separate w.c. on this floor.

From the kitchen, a door leads out to the back garden facing towards the river Aude which is about 150 yards away. In the back garden there is a patio, whirligig, barbecue and dining table seating ten comfortably - all surrounded by plants and shrubs.

From the dining-room, portes-fenetres lead on to the large south-facing terrace with its second barbecue, tables and seating. Beyond the terrace is the lawn, surrounded by mature trees; and beyond the lawn is the large rectangular swimming-pool, 11x5 metres in dimension and 2.2ms. at its deepest. At the corner of the swimming-pool is a paddling-pool with a jacuzzi effect. The pool is surrounded by a crazy-paved patio with tables and chairs. It is flanked by dense trees on one side, by walls and bushes on two others, and on the fourth by the landscaped mound. The pool, which can be lit at night, is not overlooked and is for the exclusive use of residents at La Florette. Beyond it is a large field suitable for ball games. The grounds are lined by rows of poplars and conifers. The property has central heating, and has been decorated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. A cot and buggy are provided.

La Florette is the largest and end section of a long two-storey building, set in its own grounds back and front. We keep the central section for ourselves, but we do not expect to be there when visitors are staying at La Florette. The third part of the building is 'Chez Magali'. It may be let to visitors also, but it faces a different direction, hence ensuring privacy for both houses. Those staying at Chez Magali do not have access to the swimming-pool or the main grounds which 'belong' to La Florette. The only exception to this will occur when the one group rents La Florette and Chez Magali at the same time, in which case doors may be opened to bring the two houses effectively closer together so that everyone shares the same facilities.

Linen provided free, except cot sheets and towels for the beach and terrace. Free heating and electricity except in the winter. Easy parking. Keys sent to you in advance, enabling you to arrive when you want to. Lets normally from Saturday to Saturday, negotiable off-season. Autoroute 5 miles. For full letting arrangements, see below.

The property is let as a whole, not on a 'per person' basis. Lets are normally made for complete weeks, from Saturday to Saturday. Special arrangements may be negotiated on request. The prices relate to the week beginning on each Saturday listed. On confirmation of a booking, the deposit will be required. In the event of a cancellation, the deposit is returnable only if we manage to fill the vacancy so created, but any costs incurred in so doing - for example, the costs of advertising - may be deducted. The balance of the full cost should be paid to Mr. & Mrs. Jay, 11 Moray Place, Strathbungo, Glasgow G41 2BA, not fewer than six weeks before the beginning of the let. A provisional booking may be made, but it must be confirmed or cancelled within a week of being made. The costs of cleaning and electricity are included in the price of the let, except in the winter when special arrangements apply. All linen is provided, including hand- and bath-towels, but you should bring your own towels for use on the beach, in the garden or by the swimming-pool. It is a condition of the let that not more than ten people should stay in the house at any one time. We regret that we cannot allow pets into the property. We shall send you a key to the kitchen door before the beginning of your holiday. In the house, you will find keys to the other doors. Please return the kitchen key to us in the stamped addressed envelope when you get home. We ask visitors to arrive after 4.00 p.m. on their first Saturday, and to leave before 10.00 a.m. on their final morning.
